FAQs

We’ve tried to answer all of your questions you may have! If you are still in need of help, call us on 07375 557 016 or fill out a contact form.

Do you have a physical shop? Where are you?

Yes we do! Our shop address is Unit 11 Belbins Business Park, Cupernham Lane, Romsey, SO51 7JF
It can be tricky to find first time – please don’t hesitate to call us. 07 375 557 016

Are you wheelchair friendly?

We certainly are! Accessibility is important to us: any feedback please let us know. We have tried to keep the tables and aisles with enough distance between them. The upstairs is not accessible – we would love to eventually fund a lift so that anyone can go upstairs, but it isn’t financially feasible at the moment. Our toilet is wheelchair friendly.

Are dogs allowed in the shop?

Yes! This is a new addition to us which is so exciting! They are allowed at the front of the shop but no further – we’d love to hang out with your pups, but due to health and safety reasons, they are not allowed further. Assistant dogs are welcome throughout the shop. Please keep your dogs close due to the nature of the shop.

I find it all too overwhelming! Where do I start?

Please don’t be overwhelmed. People can find ‘zero waste’ a scary term as it seems impossible to reach. But it’s not: it’s all about doing one bit at a time. Change one thing. Once you start making the change, you will see the ‘ripple’ effect and everything will slowly fall into place! We are always happy to help and we can help you every step of the way.

How does it all work?

For our weighted products, we have a simple system: weigh, fill + pay. You first weigh your containers, fill them and then bring them to the till. Here we will weigh the final weight of the container, subract the initial weight and charge you for the contents bought. We can walk you through it no problem.

Do you deliver?

Yes we do! We do local deliveries: Tuesdays SO1 and SO3 postcodes, Wednesdays SO2 postcodes, Thursdays SO4 postcodes and Fridays SO5 postcodes. We also do postal deliveries and offer both first and second class. Alternatively, you can order to pick up in the shop.

Do you post anywhere?

We certainly do! We post anywhere in the UK – any further afield we can discuss postage prices. We are happy to post at cost outside the UK. If you are looking to get food posted, please get in contact – this is different due to the weight of the potential packages.

What is ‘zero waste’?

Zero waste is about minimising waste. Put simply, sendly nothing to landfill. Hence our term ‘Refill not Landfill’! It’s about reducing what we need and reusing as much as we can – this could be plastic tupperware from takeaways.

Do you use takeaway cups?

We do not. A large part of our ethos is to discourage single use. Even the most compostable and biodegradable cups are not fully degradable once they have been contaminated (with drink). We ask you bring your own reusable cups with you, or you can hang out with us for a few minutes to have one of our mugs in-house. If we do not have cups left, we could use donated jars which you can simply pop in your glass recycling!

Can I bring my own containers?

Indeed you can! In fact, we encourage this. Please reuse any containers or bags you have at home, first. If it can be weighed, it can be filled! If you don’t have enough, we do sell some as well as have paper bags and donated containers available.

What if I forgot my containers / don’t have enough?

Not to worry! We have a few optionsavailable: donated (+ sterilised in our dishwasher) containers, paper bags (for a 5p charge per bag) or containers for sale

Can I buy containers from you?

Yep, we have plenty of containers for sale! We have glass jars, glass bottles and aluminium bottles for sale.

How will my order be packaged?

We pack everything sustainably and plastic free. If we aren’t using our recycled cardboard boxes, we are reusing boxes from deliveries. The packaging is all paper and cardboard too.

What about allergens and ingredients?

We take great care to store and package all products in accordance with food hygiene regulations, but please keep in mind that all allergens are present. Due to the nature of our shop, allergens could be present in the form of airborne particles, dust particles or granules. We aim to prevent cross-contamination but are unable to guarantee this. Any questions, please get in touch.

Do you run workshops or events?

Yes we do! If you have a look at the ‘What’s On’ page and the category ‘Workshops + Events’ it should have all the updated details. We also have areas in the shop showing what’s on.

Can I run workshops with you / at yours?

Absolutely! Please email us on hello@lemonandjinja.com giving us details on what you’d like to do. We have a rental fee. If you are looking to run more community-focused events / workshops, do also get in touch and we can discuss pricing.

Do you have recycle points in your shop?

We certainly do! We will take your old bras to be recycled – they are given a second life in various countries on the African continent. We are also a recycling point for wine corks and ink cartridges. And you can recycle candles, too (coming soon!)
